Mike Bassett: Interim Manager – Sequel We’ve All Been Waiting For Just Got Even Better!
Ricky Tomlinson, the actor who is set to reprise his role as Mike Bassett, the bumbling manager who guided England to the World Cup semi-finals, has claimed the new film will see a lot of cameos, and maybe even England captains past and present.
As reported by The LAD Bible, back in March, Mike Bassett: Interim Manager, will see the belligerent Scouser step in as number two for German tactical genius Jorgen Mannstein, in a film that has been financed by public donation site Kickstarter.
Article Continues BelowTomlinson, also known for his classic role as the foul mouthed, armchair dwelling Dad Jim Royle, in BBC comedy The Royle Family, has told the Daily Star which football personalities he believes would be a good fit for the film.
“I think I could have a laugh with Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard because they’re local lads and we’ve got a lot in common.
Even maybe Jamie Carragher because he’s just retired and he’s a football pundit now isn’t he? I think you’ll see a lot of cameos.”
Let’s hope Bassett still has England playing Four Four F**king Two!
