Class stunt pulled by paddy power!
The guys at Paddy Power are well known for their mischievous ways, and they certainly haven’t failed to deliver this weekend.
After a poor start to his season at Anfield, Mario Balotelli has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Failing to score a goal in 5 appearances is one thing, but his attitude on the pitch is another. On Wednesday night after a miserable first half for Liverpool against Spanish super powers Real Madrid, Mario decided it would be a good idea to swap shirts with Pepe in full view of the fans. Even if Pepe did initiate this Mario should have at least had the decency to wait until they were off camera.

This afternoon ahead of Liverpool’s 3pm match against Hull City, Paddy Power have set up a swapshop outside anfield, where you can swap your Balotelli shirt for a Liverpool shirt with ‘Power 9’ on the back.

The Irish bookmakers aren’t shy when it comes to controversy. Another of their viral stunts included sending a grim reaper to taunt David Moyes during his spell at Manchester United, and we can’t forget their numerous billboards! Their latest stunt has of course caused mixed reactions. It’s safe to say that Liverpool fans didn’t enjoy it.

Love them or hate them, there’s no denying that Paddy Power know how to make some noise. Marketing success! The real question is; does Mario Balotelli have a response? We’ll wait and see.
