Video/Pics: Millwall Fans Clash with Police and Stewards at Rothertham

Saturday’s Championship fixture between Rotherham and Millwall was marred by scenes of ugly crowd violence.

Shocking images from the New York Stadium show supporters and police clashing during the afternoon fixture.

Police were forced to step in to halt the violence which broke out late in the second half.

On the pitch Martyn Woolford opened the scoring for the Lions early, before second half goals from Danny Ward and Kari Arnason sealed the points.

And it seems it was Arnason’s 85th minute winner that sparked the ugly scenes in the crowd.

Missiles were said to have been thrown by sections of the visiting support with a number trying to cross meshing and reach the home fans before the final whistle.

The result sees Millwall fall six points adrift of safety while the Millers move further clear in 21st.
